City of St. Louis' Jamie Frank
Earns CGM Status
(Baltimore,
MD) - The Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS) has announced
that Jamie Frank of St. Louis, Mo. has become the 112th grounds
management professional to successfully complete its Certified Grounds
Manager (CGM) program. Frank currently serves as an urban forester
for the City of St. Louis Forestry Division where he has been for
the past eight years.
Frank became interested in the CGM program after finding the design
of the program was conducive to what he wanted to accomplish professionally.
"While trees are a key component of my position, the position
covers the scope of the green profession which means I am also responsible
for landscape design and elements of grounds maintenance from supervision
to planning. I felt becoming a CGM was a way to introduce a professional
credential, certification and recognition into the grounds maintenance
aspects of my position," he said.
Frank found the CGM test to be well designed and felt it represented
the wide scope knowledge necessary to be an effective grounds manager
and would encourage aspiring CGM's tofind out more about the program
and consider investing the time into it. "Continue to grow
and develop yourself professionally. It has a positive impact on
both yourself and your employer. Becoming a CGM is a great way to
do this," he exclaimed.
