The Episcopal Academy is currently seeking a Grounds Superintendent for an immediate opening. This position is responsible for the overall maintenance and care of our 125 acre educational campus. The Academy athletic fields consist of: seven Kentucky Bluegrass fields with skinned areas and two Field Turf-Tarkett synthetic turf fields; in addition we care for upwards of 1,700 trees and shrubs. This position reports to the Director of Facilities and Operations and will oversee a staff of three full-time employees, two seasonal employees and be responsible for the scheduling and management of all outside vendors. He/she will develop and maintain a snow removal plan, as well developing the fertilizer, pesticide, mowing, topdressing, aerification, overseeding, line striping, and grooming schedules for the entire campus.

Key Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Layout and installation of new systems or existing system expansions
- Pulls pipe as needed for new or expanding systems
- Installs and initializes controllers (Hunter, Rainbird, etc.)
- Installs, diagnoses and repairs wired and wireless rain sensors
- Troubleshoots irrigation systems and recommends solutions for repairs and more efficient water usage
- Adjusts heads and nozzles to ensure complete coverage of irrigated areas
- Locates existing zones and valves
- Prepares as-built drawings and zone charts for systems
- Properly turns on and tests irrigation systems in Spring
- Properly winterizes irrigation systems to prevent freeze damage to all exterior pipe and heads as well as backflow prevention systems
- Professionally represents the company and the department by communicating with all clients regarding status of systems, water conservation recommendations, proper watering schedules, etc.
This is a full time, year round position that requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in the irrigation field. Applicants must have a clean driving record, a strong work ethic, be self motivated, able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment. Any industry licenses or certifications are a plus. Experience: 2-3 yrs
