Branch Has Fall Quarterly Meeting At University of North Texas
The
Texas Branch of the PGMS held their fall quarterly meeting on the
campus of University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. All those
who attended would like to thank Lanse Fullinwider with UNT, for
his generosity and for giving everyone a wonderful tour of his campus.
Besides our regular business meeting, we had a quest speaker, Byron
Beal with Ewing Irrigation, who talked about new irrigation laws,
what water audits are and how to perform an audit, along with proper
monitoring methods and moisture sensors and how they can save money.
Our next meeting will be at the University Landscape Managers Associations
annual meeting in Fredericksburg, Texas on February 23 - 25, 2010.

Branch Has Summer Quarterly Meeting At Abilene Christian University
The
Texas Branch of the PGMS held their summer quarterly meeting on
the campus of Abilene Christian University in Abilene Texas. All
those who attended would like to thank Corey Ruff, Director of Landscape
with ACU, for his generosity and for giving everyone a wonderful
tour of his campus. Besides our regular business meeting, we had
a quest speaker, Corey Herpel with the City of Dallas Storm Water
Management Department, who talked about how pesticides, herbicides
and fertilizers effect storm water along with some organic alternatives,
and how to help prevent storm water pollution both on the job and
at home. Our next meeting will be at the University of North Texas
in Denton Texas courtesy of Lanse Fullinwider Grounds Manager.
