PGMS Branches > DC Branch

The D.C. Branch of PGMS was founded in 1929 as the National Association of Gardeners.

Our membership consists of individuals throughout the metropolitan Washington area who are managers of parks, recreation areas, golf courses, botanical gardens, institutions, grounds maintenance contractors and allied suppliers of equipment and materials. These include assistant managers, agriculture extension agents, research people and others who are horticulturally qualified.

The branch holds regular meetings, usually on the first Thursday of the month at places of various members in the area. The meetings consist of an educational program concerning a grounds management related topic, a short business meeting concerning issues of importance to the branch, followed by light refreshments and a chance for members to exchange individual problems and solutions informally.
