Cincinnati Branch Hosts Fall Tour/Meeting at Historic Ohio Masonic Home

The Ohio Masonic Home (OMH), Springfield, Ohio, was the site of the Cincinnati Branch's fall meeting/tour on Thursday, October 6 from noon to 4 pm.

The day started with a welcome and brief history of the Home by Bob Kane, assistant director of engineering, followed by a box lunch in the OMH shelter house provided by the branch. OHM CEO Dave Bannermanalso stopped by to welcome everyone. Ray Mirizzi of Cincinnati State College gave a brief presentation on the benefits of membership and active involvement in PGMS at both the national and local levels.

Following lunch, everyone took a hayride campus tour led by John Evans, OMH grounds supervisor. The tour made stops at the Masonic Square condominium model and the Iredell gardens apartment model; details of these living spaces were provided by the OMH marketing department. The tour then proceeded to Bushnell Hall, the original building on campus (1892). Attendees were also able to see a portion of the approximately 3/8 mile long underground tunnel that connects all the major main campus buildings that enables residents and staff to move between buildings in comfort in all types of weather.

The day concluded back at the shelter house where all 27 attendees were free to view the OMH grounds equipment and to visit the equipment displays of several local dealers.
