Salt Lake City's Richard Williams
Earns CGM Status
(Baltimore,
MD) - The Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS) has announced
that Richard Williams of Salt Lake City, Utah has become the 125th
grounds management professional to successfully complete its Certified
Grounds Manager (CGM) program.
Williams
currently serves as Grounds Manager at Shriners Hospital for Children.
PGMS recently spent a few moments getting to know Richard.
PGMS:
How long have you been a PGMS member?
Williams: Since 2008.
PGMS:
Why did you want to become a CGM?
Williams: I felt like
our industry was not recognized enough for the experience and training
required. I felt like the Certification would give recognition to
our field of expertise, on a personal and professional level.
PGMS: What did you think of
the program?
Williams: It made me realize
the scope and intricacy of grounds maintenance, and I enjoyed the
review and learning process. It was a lot of work, but was rewarding,
and it leads to a valuable source of information to have compiled
on your grounds.
