PGMS Presents 2009 Awards to Grounds Professionals

The
Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS) has recognized Doyle
Watson of Belle Meade Country Club in Nashville, Tenn. and Dennis
Baker of Cincinnati State Tech and Community College in Cincinnati,
Ohio with PGMS President's Awards. Both grounds professionals were
presented with their awards at PGMS' 2009 School of Grounds Management
& GIE+EXPO held in Louisville, Ky. Oct. 28-31 and were honored
for their long term service and dedication to PGMS.
The
PGMS School of Grounds Management & GIE+EXPO is targeted at
in-house grounds managers overseeing an assortment of facilities
ranging from universities to commercial facilities to municipalities.
A range of topics are covered in the educational program aspect
that makes it relevant to all green industry professionals. Considered
the premiere educational event for grounds management professionals,
the School of Grounds Management annually includes a Pre-Conference
Field Trip, Business over Breakfast programs, and other social and
educational opportunities. At the conclusion of the program PGMS
holds their annual Awards and Installation Dinner where the Green
Star Award recipients are announced and the incoming officer and
board of directors are installed. PGMS leaders are already at work
planning the 2010 School of Grounds Management & GIE+EXPO which
will take place in Louisville, KY., Oct. 27-30, 2010.
