Waterfront Park

As Louisville continues to reclaim its waterfront, Waterfront Park continues to grow. On Louisville’s lively downtown riverfront, visitors will find the Belle of Louisville, Joe’s Crab Shack, Tumbleweed Southwest Grill, playgrounds, an amphitheater, walking paths and open lawn areas complete with water displays and beautiful views. Fourth Street Live

Fourth Street Live! is Louisville’s premier dining and entertainment district featuring a mix of leading national and regional restaurants and clubs. A variety of great food and drinks abounds at 4th Street Live! – from pub-type food to more upscale eateries. Grab a martini and dinner at Red Star Tavern, have a few beers and a burger at Lucky Strike or some famous Kentucky bourbon at Maker’s Mark. Located downtown, it will become party central for GIE+EXPO.

Muhammad Ali Center

The Muhammad Ali Center serves as both a destination site and an international education and cultural center that is inspired by the ideals of its founder Muhammad Ali. Two-and-a-half levels of interactive exhibits and captivating multi-media presentations present Ali’s life story through the six core values of his life: respect, confidence, conviction, dedication, giving, and spirituality. Louisville Slugger Museum

It takes a special place to craft the Official Bat of Major League Baseball. Since 1884, Louisville Slugger has put prime lumber in the hands of the greatest players of the game. A visit to the museum shows you how the sport has changed a bit between then and now, but the "crack of the bat" remains one of the sporting world's most thrilling moments. Louisville Science Center and IMAX

The Louisville Science Center is now the largest hands-on science center in Kentucky, with about 150 interactive exhibits and activity stations, a four-story IMAX Theatre, teaching laboratories, a variety of educational programs, and distance learning capabilities. Now showing at the IMAX is "Hurricane on the Bayou", a film about the effects of Hurricane Katrina. Click here for more information!


Glassworks

Glassworks is a multi-use facility located in the heart of Downtown Louisville dedicated to the art of glass. The objective of the Glassworks Tour is to assist visitors in recognizing the mystery and beauty of glass, to understand its origins and its development, as well as to appreciate the artistry and craftsmanship that goes into each creation. NEW! Frazier International History Museum

History comes alive at The Frazier International History Museum in the 100,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art museum encompassing three floors. Here you can relive historical events that challenged our ancestors. Kentucky Derby Museum

A visit to the Kentucky Derby Museum can include a guided walking tour of the newly renovated Churchill Downs. The museum features an award-winning, High Definition Kentucky Derby film entitled "The Greatest Race." Displayed on a 360-degree screen, "The Greatest Race" places the viewer in the center of Derby Day action. Click here for more information!


Frankfort Avenue Trolley Hop

On Friday, October 26, visitors can hop on a free TARC trolley from 5 to 11 p.m. during the Frankfort Avenue Trolley Hop. Take a ride along Frankfort Avenue to visit participating galleries and shops and be their guest for artist openings, refreshments and more. Louisville is well known for its historic architecture, and now for its painting, sculpture, photography and glass art as well. Click here for more information!

Shopping possibilities in Greater Louisville are as limitless as your imagination. For the shopping enthusiast there are several major shopping malls featuring nationally recognized retailers such as Dillard's, Chico's, William Sonoma, Old Navy and Gap. For antique lovers there are shops with amazing finds, ranging from jewelry to furniture to collectibles, scattered throughout the community. The Bardstown Road and Frankfort Avenue areas are loaded with antique shops, art galleries and unique boutiques.


HOW TO GET WHERE YOU'RE GOING
